“There’s ‘clean,’ and then there’s ‘ St. Jude clean.’”
According to our friends at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., “There’s ‘clean,’ and then there’s ‘St. Jude clean.'” Tru-D is proud to play a role in helping to keep infection rates low at this world renowned children’s research hospital.
“In Environmental Services, we do a great job of cleaning,” says Tracy Davis of St. Jude Environmental Services. “But the UV light gives us an additional level that’s needed for our immunosuppressed kids. It also gives parents a sense of confidence in knowing we’re doing a great job for their children.”
Two Tru-D robots are used at St. Jude for disinfecting patient rooms, Surgical Services, ICU and other areas. Once the EVS staff cleans a room using traditional cleaning methods, Tru-D is rolled in to complete the disinfection process. Operated by a remote control outside the room, Tru-D uses patented Sensor360 technology that compensates for room variables such as size, shape and contents to deliver the precise, lethal dose of UV needed for terminal room disinfection. Taking whatever time is necessary to flood the room with the exact amount of UV energy needed, Tru-D operators are free to complete other tasks during the disinfection cycle.
