UV Improves Disinfection in Health Care Facilities from Health Facilities Management
In a recent article in Health Facilities Management, writer Neal Lorenzi discusses the use of UV and HP technologies to improve disinfection in health care facilities.
He quotes Chuck Dunn, CEO and President of Tru-D SmartUVC, “A recent large-scale, multisite, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-funded, randomized clinical trial concluded that a combination of manual cleaning and measured-dose UV light results in a 30 percent reduction of infections for patients who stay in rooms previously occupied by infected patients.”
The author further states that as UV and HP delivery technologies and services continue to evolve and facilities continue to track the incidence of infections, the usage patterns for these devices will be redefined.
Tru-D is the only device of its kind that measures the UV dose reflected in a room to deliver the precise amount of UV energy needed to provide total room disinfection. Validated by more than a dozen, independent, third-party studies, including the only randomized clinical trial on UV disinfection, Tru-D is on a mission to reduce HAIs in hospitals and save precious lives and dollars.
