Tru-D_CourtesySarasotaHospital_ColorPreviewSarasota Memorial Hospital is committed to patient safety and providing the cleanest health care environment possible.

The hospital was recently featured in a Herald-Tribune story, which highlighted how the UVC disinfection technology is used at the facility.

“Manual cleaning only (cleans) about 50% of surfaces,” says Alice Brewer, director of clinical affairs for Tru-D SmartUVC and a former hospital epidemiologist and infectious disease specialist.

“Manual cleaning leaves a lot of places there might be germs that could be transmitted to a patient, worker or family member,” Brewer said. “Using a UVC (ultraviolet) device like Trudi gets all those surfaces and spaces that may get infected manually.”

During National Patient Safety Awareness Week, we want to applaud Sarasota Memorial and the hundreds of other hospitals who are committed to providing the cleanest health care environment possible.
