Trud-Straight-On-Stealth-BlackTru-D is the newest member of the environmental services team at Jennings American Legion Hospital.

“Tru-D stands for total room ultraviolet disinfection,” said Infection Preventionist Phyllis Theriot.

Jennings American Legion Hospital is the first in the Jennings, Louisiana, area to acquire Tru-D. The device works by flooding a room with UVC light to disinfect all surfaces, especially in hard-to-reach or shadowed areas.

“We’re all human, and when you clean something, you might miss something and might not realize that you miss it. This Tru-D will not miss–it will get it all,” said Theriot.

Jennings American Legion was able to acquire two Tru-D robots through funds donated through the hospital’s foundation from their annual Laugh4Life Benefit.
