We’ve recently discussed how the Tru-D® iQ system provides more power and more speed compared to the Tru-D® Classic device. Now, we want to share how the iQ system is able to disinfect more spaces – not only in the quantity of spaces but also in the types of spaces.

The Tru-D® iQ system can disinfect more spaces in less time by reducing cycle times and using more efficient UVC lamps. The system's Sensor360® technology measures the UVC energy that bounces back to the robot, allowing it to calculate the time needed to disinfect a room based on factors such as its size, geometry and surface reflectivity. The system also uses Dynamic Dosing to shift UVC output to maximize bulb efficiency, and Flux Acceleration to preheat bulbs to their optimal operating temperature.

Due to the iQ system’s shorter cycle times, EVS staff can disinfect more rooms in the same amount of time. At one facility, the EVS staff was able to complete 2,489 UVC disinfection cycles with the iQ system with just four minutes active time for staff per cycle as compared to 921 UVC disinfection cycles with the Tru-D® Classic device with just four minutes active time for staff per cycle. Therefore, the same amount of staff time per cycle was required; however, there were exponentially more hours of cycle time, more rooms disinfected and more efficiencies created for staff.

The portable, maneuverable Scout, part of the new iQ system, also helps lead to shorter cycle times and more rooms able to be disinfected. It can be used with its larger counterpart, Tower, or by itself in small spaces such as bathrooms. Due to Scout’s smaller size, it can disinfect smaller spaces such as bathrooms with speed and the same efficacy.

At a facility in the Midwest, the iQ system was compared to the Tru-D® Classic device in 13 different room types between two wings of the facility. In some rooms, Scout was used in the adjacent bathroom to further shorten cycle times. Cycle time reductions varied between 8.3% and 61.12%.
