At Tru-D® SmartUVC, we pride ourselves on building a diverse team that drives innovation and delivers exceptional customer support. One shining example is Nicole Warren, a talented and dedicated member of our Technical Support Specialist (TSS) team. With her impressive background and unique perspective, Nicole brings a fresh approach to a field typically dominated by men.
From sports medicine to technical support
Nicole's journey to Tru-D SmartUVC is anything but ordinary. She holds a bachelor's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis on sports medicine and exercise physiology, as well as a master's degree in athletic training. Before joining Tru-D SmartUVC, Nicole spent seven years as a clinical athletic trainer, clinical preceptor and graduate professor. This wealth of experience, combined with her board certification and numerous credentials, equips her with a unique skill set that enhances her role as a TSS.
A fresh perspective
Nicole joined Tru-D SmartUVC in July 2024 and quickly became a valued team member.
"I enjoy working with a team rooted in communication and teamwork," she said. "Great leadership fosters camaraderie, and it's a joy to work with individuals united by a common goal."
Being a woman in a male-dominated field hasn’t posed major challenges for Nicole. In fact, she’s found it to be an advantage.
"While some customers are surprised when I show up instead of the men who previously held this role, it’s given me a chance to offer a different brand of service and care," she said. "It allows me to understand and meet customer needs in a way that strengthens our relationships."
Building strong customer connections
One of Nicole's favorite aspects of her role is working with Tru-D customers.
"Our customers are incredibly intentional about their use of our products," she said. "They understand the positive impact our devices have on their facilities, which leads to excellent communication between the TSS team and their teams."
Nicole’s ability to build trust and foster collaboration are key to her success. She ensures that Tru-D devices are implemented and supported in a way that maximizes their impact, helping facilities maintain the highest standards of cleanliness.
Life beyond work
Outside of work, Nicole is a family-oriented adventurer. She loves spending time with her family and friends, attending sporting events and exploring the great outdoors. From golf and hiking to paddleboarding with her boyfriend, Nicole’s free time is filled with activities that fuel her spirit. She also enjoys taking her nieces and nephews to the beach and Legoland, creating memories that last a lifetime.
Inspiring the next generation
Nicole’s journey at Tru-D SmartUVC is a testament to the value of diverse perspectives and the strength of inclusive teams. Her experience highlights the importance of breaking barriers and redefining roles in industries traditionally dominated by men.
As part of Tru-D SmartUVC’S TSS team, Nicole is not just supporting customers—she’s paving the way for the next generation of women in tech and sales.
